As Thanksgiving Day approaches for each of us, it is a perfect time to reflect on what we are thankful l for. Time seems to fly by so quickly. We can get bogged down with the business of our lives and not pay close attention to the blessings that are given to us each day.
As Sarah Ban Brethnach said in her Simple Abundance Journal of Gratitude, “Giving thanks to God or to another human being, gratitude gifts us with renewal, reflection, and reconnection. Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those translucent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life.”
Gratitude and giving thanks is most powerful experiences in our lives. In good or bad times it changes who we are. It opens our scope of possibilities, growth and keeps us humble at the same time.
So how do we begin this process of gratitude and giving thanks?
We can begin by asking a few key questions
- What and whom am I grateful for today?
- What did I learn?
- How can I give thanks and praise?
Finally, let’s make this year’s Thanksgiving Holiday a positive example of what giving thanks really means to our families, friends and colleagues.
Blessings,
