Shhhhh, if you get really quiet and lean in you’ll hear it. That’s it, lean in really close, just like that. God (or whatever higher power calls to you) is whispering your purpose to you right now at this very moment.
Did you catch it? No? Well, that’s okay because sometimes it’s not quite as easy as getting quiet and listening to the wind, but it does require listening because, believe me, God is talking to you.
So if He’s talking to you, how do you actually listen? How can you actually HEAR God? It does take some effort, some awareness, but it’s worth it because He’s delivering you the key to your life, the very reason you exist — your purpose. Sounds exciting doesn’t it?
Think about a time in your life when you felt peace — a calmness. Perhaps it was a moment in your child hood. Perhaps it was when you first kissed your true love. Perhaps it was when you heard the cry of your child for the very first time. It’s in these moments that God speaks loud and clear. Remember what it’s like to feel that calmness and tune into that and you’ll hear your purpose. Perhaps you already have.
God speaks to everyone differently. He may show up to you in a dream, in a heartbeat, in a prayer at church, or even on a yoga mat. Find some stillness and pay attention because God is reaching out His olive branch to you in those moments. Will you choose to take it?
He knew you before you were born and He knows how to mold you. Trust in that.
You’ll notice that purpose can show up in a number of different places in your life and doesn’t necessarily have to be your career as many believe. Oh no, it’s much larger than that. You may be an amazing spouse, friend, philanthropist or any number of other things. Your purpose is a combination of who you are being combined with how and what you are doing and how that makes the greatest impact.
Look at each day and find ways to empower those around you and be sure to ask “Am I really living out God’s purpose for my life?”
So go ahead, get quiet and lean on in………
Many plans are in man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand. Proverbs 19:21
