Stop Sleepwalking Through Life

Needs — everyone has them and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.

As a human being, you have certain areas of your life that need tending or else you can’t thrive. Some of those are obvious to most and include things such as food, water, shelter and sometimes the not so obvious, love.

You do, though, have needs even beyond those that must be met and, whether you realize it or not, you’re going to go after them. These needs will vary from person to person, but once you are aware of them, you are able to create a fulfilled life and have goals and dreams realized.

It’s important to be cognizant of the fact that needs can and will be met no matter what obstacles present themselves, though, the method is not always a healthy, positive one. If you aren’t aware of a specific need, your subconscious will still attempt to meet that need. For example, you might be a teenager who needs to feel cared for and accepted so you end up joining the wrong crowd (and sometimes sacrificing your values) to fit in and feel loved and acknowledged.

Once you know what you need, you can start to use that information to empower yourself and set goals. You’ll also find that the more a certain need gets met, it’s level of need will change. For example, as you gain more self esteem, your need for recognition begins to dwindle.

You’ll also find that once you know what you need, more choices are opened up for you and you are no longer sleepwalking through life.
