If things feel like they are spinning out of control for you right now, please know that you are definitely not alone. What I’m hearing from a lot of clients at this point in time is that many feel like they are on a merry-go-round and they feel trapped. They don’t know how to get off the ride, or at the very least, how to control the speed. They are wondering when this merry-go-round of life is going to slow down so they can stop being so constantly dizzy. Sound familiar?
What most people don’t realize is that on this carousel, you really are ultimately in control. You are the conductor and get to decide how fast or slow you want to go. You can stop the dizziness right this very moment.
The key to controlling the merry-go-round is to have a plethora of resources at your fingertips and this is, many times, much easier than you think.
First, remember that you have control over how you react to any given situation. You can CHOOSE how you are going to feel and this can make the difference between a major migraine or a mild headache. Second, you can pray. Remember that God is always listening and by your side. He’s not going to give you anything you can’t deal with…ever. Third, take the time to look for the good. Sure, this might sound all Pollyanna, but oft-times there is always something good to be found in every situation no matter how dire. Fourth, create a support system by reaching out to those that love and stand by you. These (and you can probably think of more, I’d love you to share with me!) are just a few of the resources you have available right now to take action right this very minute.
Please remember the merry-go-round doesn’t have to be a dizzying experience, but it can be a fun ride if we meet it with the right frame of mind. There is always hope as long as you have resources to turn to, and if you need help locating those, give me a call and we’ll find them together because remember, you are definitely never alone.
